I've Gotten on the Popbasic Train!

So you may or may not have heard about the style subscription service called Popbasic.

Popbasic claims you can 'Create your style one micro collection at a time'. They design limited edition, high quality basics and trend pieces that you can order as soon as they are released. It's based around collections that you can sign up to be notified of when the next release is coming and what it will consist of and the majority of them seem to be under US$100.

I originally got sucked into checking out Popbasic after reading a post on Tine's website Beautyholics Anonymous here. I am totally hopeless when it comes to buying clothes and matching outfits (but have enough shoes to fill a room!) so this greatly appealed to me as a way to try and build up my pathetic wardrobe with pieces that I could get a lot of use out of and match to my shoes :-)

What I also loved about Popbasic is that you aren't locked into purchasing anything. You have to sign up for each collection as they are released to receive it so if there is one that you don't really like, you don't have to purchase it.

The first collection I purchased was the latest one which is their Ashbury collection. It consisted of a basic black tank top, a black vegan leather skirt and a sparkly necklace. I didn't think I could go wrong with basic black items and could see a number of ways to mix and match these pieces with others I already own.

In all my excitement to get to my items when they arrived I totally forgot to photograph the unboxing (and have since worn all of the items) but the ones I received are those below (taken from the Popbasic website):

Basic Black Tank

Ashbury Vegan Leather Skirt

Gwyn Collar Necklace

Also, I did my best to estimate my size by getting out the tape measure and matching my measurements as accurately I could with those listed on the website. The black tank ended up being a little bit larger than I would have liked but it's still easily wearable and the skirt fit perfectly. I definitely recommend taking the time to match your measurements before buying any clothing online as every item is sized differently and it saves a lot of heartace in the end!

I also received a little added bonus of a Demeter fragrance in the scent Clean Skin which got me so excited you would not believe it! I've lusted after buying one of their fragrances for such a long time but was always a little freaked out at whether they were just too weird but the Clean Skin one I received it so subtle and pretty. It's one I will wear on casual days when i don't want a strong scent but still need a little pick-me-up.

It pays to note that their website also contains a few style guides to give you some inspiration on how to wear your new pieces which I love.

I can't wait to see what the next collection will bring! I'm so disappointed that I missed out on the Green Maxi skirt in the Sherwood collection though. That item is something I would have loved to have in my wardrobe!

As a little bonus to anyone who is thinking of trying out Popbasic, you can get $15 credit off your next purchase by clicking here.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Natures Beauty Bag - November 2013

So there's a new subscription service in town called Natures Beauty Bag, and being the subscription junkie that I am I couldn't help but subscribe and see what it was like for myself.

Natures Beauty Bag specialises in organic and natural products which is something that I personally am so excited about. Here is a little bit about them which I grabbed from their website:

'We launched Natures Beauty Bag because we feel that everyone should experience quality natural and organic beauty products.

We strive to provide a variety of beauty product samples which benefit your health, beauty and general wellbeing and we believe in only providing our customers with the best.

We only provide products samples that we honestly and truly take pride in and every product is something that we ourselves would use.'

So, here is what came in the November bag:

1)  Ultra C Radiance Serum - This is a Rosehip Oil based serum rich in Vitamin C, Goji Berry, Co Enzyme Q10 & Chia Seed. I can't wait to try this out!

2) Rebifresh Cleansing Oil - This is a blend of Olive, Citrus and Apricot oils, plus certified organic lemon-scented Tea Tree. I've never had the greatest experiences with cleansing oil but will certainly give this one a go.

3) Australian Bush Essence Intensive Eye Serum - This is an organic eye serum which contains Australian Bush Flower Essences and Rose Stem Cells to care for the delicate tissue around the eyes. I've been paying particular attention to ensuring I am vigilent with applying an eye cream on a daily basis lately so will be interested to see how this one goes.

4) Maeve Mineral Vitality Face Serum - This serum contains regenerative and anti-inflammatory ingredients and is said to be perfect for environmentally stressed and mature skin. That's me in a nutshell so this is definitely on my 'try next' list.

5) Cherry Brown Natural Mineral Lipstick - These lipsticks are made with pure ingredients including apricot kernel oil and extra virgin macadamia oil. They are free from animal testing, petroleum products, palm oil in any form, animal ingredients, chemical additives, parabens, preservatives, synthetic dyes and colours, micronised ingredients and nanoparticles (Phew!) I received one in the shade 'Hot Pink' and it sure is what the name suggests, a super duper bright pink. I'll give a separate review and show some swatches in a future post so stay tuned.

6) Absolutely Gorgeous Organic Lip Balm - I have used a lot of Absolutely Gorgeous products in the past and have always been impressed. This lip balm is 100% organic and is in the flavour 'Coconut & Lime' which isn't too overpowering or sickly at all. I am a bit of a lip balm addict so will definitely get a lot of use out of this.

7) Morlife Greens Rush Bar - These bars contain a serve of Alkalising Greens pH7.3 powder and give an antioxidant equivalent of 5 serves of vegetables and fruit. They come in three different flavours being Banana Tropicana, Pineapple Zest and Cacao Mint. I received the Cacao Mint one and am intrigued enough to try it out soon.

The list of included products comes on lovely recycled paper as shown above.

There was also a huge amount of product brochures and discount vouchers included as well to give you all the information you could want on the products received.

Overall I'm very happy with the Natures Beauty Bag and will definitely continue subscribing for the near future. It only comes every two months as well which I guess is a bit more practical as you get a bit more time to use each product before being bombarded with more.

Natures Beauty Bag is $29.95 every two months and you can either purchase a one-off bag is you like or purchase am ongoing subscription.

What does everyone think of the Natures Beauty Bag? Has anyone else subscribed to it yet?

Have a great weekend.

Her Fashion Box - September 2013

I have been getting a Her Fashion Box delivery ever since it started but for some reason I keep forgetting to post about it before I pull it all apart.

Not this month though!

For the September box (I get the classic version) we got the following items:

1) Black clutch - I love this clutch and will get a huge amount of use out of it. The gold studs look really cool and it will go with pretty much any outfit.

2) Gold Plated ID Bracelet - This is quite a chunky bracelet that makes me feel a little bit masculine but I'll still have a go at wearing it anyway.

3) Gold Plated Ring - This ring is really pretty but way too big for any of my fingers (even my thumb!). I need to try and get the hubby to pinch it in a little bit before I can have any hope of wearing it.

4) Maybeline Colour Show Nail Polish in Iced Queen (light lilac colour) and Onyx Rush (deep black) - I'm quite excited that there were two nail polishes and both of these colours are one's that I will get heaps of wear out of.

5) Designer Brands Chubby Lip Crayon in Enchanted Rose - This seems to be a nice smooth crayon in a pretty dusty pink shade. I'll be interested to see how these compare to the Clinique Chubby Sticks and my favourite Models Prefer Lip Crayons.

6) Designer Brands Kohl Pencil in Black - Black eyeliner is probably the shade I use the least as being so pale I prefer to use either brown or a pop of colour but it will always come in handy I guess.

7) LonVitalite Collagen Firming & Moisturising Facial Mask - I tried the LonVitalite 24K Gold mask a while ago and loved it so am excited to try out this one too.

8) PureTan Pure Moisture Coconut Body Creme - I'm probably the only person on earth who isn't a fan of coconut scented products. I love real coconut but the artificial scent used in a lot of products really bothers me. I'll still give this a go and see what it's like and being only a 15ml sample I won't have to be bothered by it for too long anyway.

As always there was also the Her Fashion Magazine included with tips and details about all of the products received in the box and there was also a bonus Designer Beauty magazine this month too full of makeup tips and looks to try out.

Out of all the monthly subscription boxes I have to say that Her Fashion Box is definitely my favourite. It is a bit more expensive at $39.95 a month but I have never been very good at accessorising and it's amazing how much getting this box each month with a new piece of jewerly, scarf or belt has taken me out of my comfort zone and forced me to try and wear new things other than my usual staples.

What does everyone else think of Her Fashion Box?

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

The First Ever 'Her Fashion Box' Has Arrived!

Today I was very excited when I got home as waiting for me was the first ever My Fashion Box just asking to be opened!

The postage box itself was bright pink (sorry about the flash it was already dark by the time I got home from work) with the round Her Fashion Box logo on the front.

Inside was a nice and sturdy black cardboard box with a lid that lifts off and inside of this was where the products were contained.

Now, for the unveiling of the good stuff inside.........

I ordered the Classic box (there were also the Trendy and the Feminine boxes available) and inside were the following items:

1) Geometric shaped necklace in black and gold - I am so in love with this necklace and can see me getting a lot of wear out of it. I'm not sure of the RRP of this item as it's not listed.

2) Redken Diamond Oil Range of hair products - Deep Facets (30ml), Conditioner (30ml) & Shampoo (50ml). The RRP's of these are $35.50, $22.95 & $22.95 for full size products respectively.

3) Maybelline Colour Sensational Lip Gloss in Gleaming Grenadine - The shade I received is a dark fushia almost bordering on red and seems to be a nice opaque gloss on first impressions. RRP $15.95 for full size.

4) Master Makeup Eyeshadow Brush - I haven't heard of this brand of brushes before so am excited to try this one out. RRP is $30.00.

5) Moxie Collection - A small sample collection of Moxie pads and tampons. Probably the only item in the box I was a bit surprised about because to me it's not really an apropriate item to include in a box like this. RRP is listed as $4.47.

6) Circa Home Everyday Soap in Lilac & Orchid - This is such a pretty smelling soap that made the entire box smell lovely when it was opened. I quite like nice scented soaps so will be happy to try this one. RRP is $9.95 per soap.

7) Gold Ponytail Cuff - This is really cute but because my hair is so fine it's a bit wide for me. At least the black elastic it's attached to will make it still stay in my hair so I'll just have to work out a way to fluff my hair up a bit so it doesn't look so big. No RRP is listed against this item.

Also included was a little booklet giving information on the Master Makeup brush range and all the products received were listed in a mini Her Fashion magazine. This is an awesome little touch that is much nicer than the plain cards that are in other subscription services to describe the products received.

Overall I'm really pleased with what I received in this first box and will definitely be keeping my subscription at this point in time.

What do you think of the first Her Fashion Box?

I hope everyone has a great week.

Every month, they'll send out a beautifully packaged Her Fashion Box to your home or office. Inside will be an on-trend fashion accessory tailored to your style profile, as well as a number of carefully selected beauty products or deluxe size samples from high-end, boutique and cult brands from around the world. Each month will be a different mix of beauty products, ranging from makeup, skincare, fragrances, body, hair, and nail. In addition to your fashion accessory and beauty products or samples, Her Fashion Box will bring you products, samples or offers from premium lifestyle brands that could include things such as gorgeous stationery, luxury candles, beauty or spa services, hair and make-up tools, gourmet food or wine tasters, cute home wares, online products, entertainment and more.

Currently there are three different types of box you can subscribe to depending on your personal preferences. These are Trendy, Classic and Feminine. Once you subscribe you are asked to answer a few personal profile questions to ensure that your box is tailored to you.

At $49.95 per month, it is a bit more expensive than the other monthly subscription services available at the moment, but considering you get an on-trend fashion accessory as well as beauty products, samples and other offers, the price seems reasonable enough to me.

The code to enter at checkout is 'MYLITTLESPACE'.
