Manicare Cuticle Therapy - Saving my winter ravaged nails!

Hello there! Do you remember me? Huge apologies for disappearing for a little while but life just got a little crazy for a while and something had to give. Unfortunately the easiest thing to give up without too many consequences was this blog. I really have missed it though and can't wait to get back into posting about all of the products I've been loving.

Today I am telling you all about a little gem I found in the form of Manicare Cuticle Therapy. After the cold winter we just went though my poor nails and cuticles were a little worse for wear and after applying this treatment for a couple of weeks the results were amazing!

Cuticle Therapy contains Apricot Kernel Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera Extract and is great for dry and rough cuticles and weak, brittle nails.

I have been applying it at night after showering and before bed and have begun to really enjoy my little routine of massaging it into my nails. I find that you really have to make sure you massage it in well though as it does have a tendency to stick around on top of the skin for a while before sinking in which can make things a little messy.

It applies the same as a regular nail polish where you just brush it onto the nails and cuticles and then massage in. I find it easiest to brush some onto every nail on one hand first, massage it all in as much as I can, then do the same on the other hand.

It has a very subtle lemony kind of scent which goes away pretty fast after use. I think it will last forever too as I've hardly made a dent in the bottle so far even though I've used it practically every night for around a month now.

The difference in the look of my poor, dry cuticles and nails has been amazing and I don't seem to suffer from torn cuticles anymore either. My nails seem to be a little stronger too and less transparent looking which is a nice bonus.

The photo on the left above was the state of my poor, dry nails before I started using this treatment and the photo on the right is how nourished they look after just a few uses.

If you have dry, brittle nails and cuticles then I sincerely recommend trying this stuff out. I got mine from Priceline so it's pretty easy to track down.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Nails of the Week - A French Manicure with a Difference: Nude Nails with Blue Tips

We had a friend's wedding last weekend and this is the mani that I decided to do for the occasion. I don't know what possessed me to try this as I wasn't wearing anything even remotely blue but sometimes I just like to try something different for a change.

This nail look was done using one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Nail Colour in Petal Pusher as a base and then two coats of Revlon Perfumed Nail Enamel in Mint Fizz.

I really like this combination and the fun look of the blue tips. Now I'm inspired to try this again with all manner of colour combinations!

What do you think? Is this a look you would try yourself?

Have a great weekend.

Review - Press and Go Press-On Nail Covers

I recently received these in a goodie bag from Priceline and as we had an engagement party to go to last weekend I just couldn't resist seeing how they worked.

First up, I love the pattern of these. Anything animal print is an instant hit with me so I was extremely happy to receive this pattern rather than any other.

These nail covers are so simple to use. You just peel off the backing strip, align the cuticle end with your nail and press them on. I held them in place for probably around 20 seconds each and once they stick they DO NOT budge.

It states on the pack that these are supposed to last up to one week. I have had mine on for three days now and they still seem to be sticking really well so it will be interesting to see how long they do actually last.

Here is the finished product:

I am totally in love with these and wish that they were my real nails!!

I did find that finding the correct size covers for my nails was a bit tricky because my natural nails are quite small so most of the covers were just a tad too big for me but you can't really tell unless you look really close.

You get 24 nail covers in one pack so you could possibly get two uses out of these if you weren't too fussy with having the exact size of your real nail and weren't doing something where anyone would be scrutinizing your nails under a microscope. Otherwise, I'm probably going to use the rest as accent nails as part of my normal manicures from now on just to add some interest.

What do you think? Would you wear these nail covers?
